Y’all. This wedding. This couple! Seriously, a total dream come true! Lane & Joe had the most perfect wedding day, along with a great team of vendors that I had the honor of working with! Read on below to hear about their day, and their advice for newly engaged couples!
WE MET: Attending Mother’s Morning Out together at Saint John Neumann Church in Lilburn, GA! We attended SJN together through the years and even went to the same middle school & high school, but were destined to spend our early lives simply “orbiting” each other.
WE FELL IN LOVE: Timing is everything! Years after graduation and back at SJN, I (Lane) crushed on the tall, handsome, grown-up Joe from afar during midnight mass. A few more years had to pass before we were finally reunited by matching on Tinder… small world!
WE GOT ENGAGED: Joe proposed one afternoon in an intimate setting with just the two of us at the park where we had shared our first kiss. The next day Joe’s coworkers surprised him with an engagement announcement on the marquee at 200 Peachtree in downtown Atlanta. Fairytale moment!
Lane: My favorite part was being surrounded by all of my best friends and extended family, and all of the moments on the dance floor- dancing like no one was watching with my new husband and having such carefree fun!Oh, and confetti cannons, duh.
Joe: Seeing you (Lane) for the first time when the church doors opened. (Awwww)
The best advice I (Lane) got was to decide very early on a few things that were most important to us, so that we would know what our “non-negotiables” were and be able to let go about the rest! For me it was location: it was really important to me to get married in a Catholic church and I knew I wanted it to be Tybee Island because having beach photos in our wedding attire was another life-long dream of mine. For Joe it was having a live band at the reception and not doing a “first look,” but rather, seeing me for the first time when I walk into the church.Once we knew those few items that were most important, we were able to plan around those and have the freedom to be flexible with everything else.It seriously made the entire process so much smoother!
